Ace rep is still so vanishingly rare that it’s a thrill to see it. I especially appreciate how this book portrayed the author’s evolution. It is so disorienting to live in a society that vanishes ace people at best and pathologizes them at worst. It’s no wonder ace people struggle with feeling as if there’s something wrong with them, since that’s precisely what they’re being told. I think this author’s vulnerability and they hard road they had to travel to reach a place of self-acceptance will resonate with many.

This graphic novel was a present from my partner. And THANK GOD he gifted me it.

I'm both in the asexual spectrum AND the autism spectrum, so most (if not all) of the experiences Burgess describes happened word for word to me. I am SO happy I get to see my experiences in media, especially a wonderfully drawn novel like this. Media like this should be paid attention to, and I think it could be used as the blueprint for other diverse graphic memoirs.

As I said, the art in this book is beautiful with a wholesome touch. It feels cute yet heartbreaking at points. The art really does emanate Burgess' feelings off the page, and it makes it so accessible to read.

To Rebecca Burgess: Thank you for writing this. I can't wait to read more of your works.
