I really liked this book. Hades, Lord of the Underworld, has just been served with divorce papers, after centuries with Persephone. Now, he has to learn how to live, not just without his wife, but in the human world, as Persephone has his castle, at least 6 months of the year. In the end, Hades decides to open a detective agency, and immediately starts on a case (all on his own, no one hired him) about murdered homeless guys, who no one seems to care about.

Therein he meets Tiberius, a guy who is very, very down on his luck, and they bond and help each other out. The story was a good mix of light and heavy, with Hades learning his way around, and Ti learning about Hades, but also dealing with Ti being homeless and his dependence on alcohol, not to mention all these murders.

Quite a fun start, I look forward to reading more in this series.

A fun nonsens story.

I loved Charon! Sure I know he was "just" a secondary character, but he was just sooo refreshing. I wanted more of him!
Sure Hades was good too and Tiberius was likeable, but the star for me was Charon.

Everybody, please, meet Hades, a God, a good man and a gentle soul, who is heartbroken over his wife serving him divorce papers, and who picks up unfortunate abused strays whether they are dogs or boys.

Great comfort read.

3.5 stars, rounding up for the love of puppies :D

Loved this so much. Not your normal leads.

Now I must go and purchase the rest of the series before it goes out of print.

I liked this but thought Hades could have been more forbidding. I really liked Charon though, he was a hoot.
