Classic murder mystery, mostly set in the Highlands of Scotland. A peculiar claim crosses the desk of the elderly Montague Cork, a big cheese in the insurance world, and he vows to investigate.
WWII Commandos, a beautiful ballerina, brawling in lochs, missing treasure, a lot more information on salmon than you could possibly desire; it was all a bit 39 Steps-ish, which is grand but not really what I'm looking for in a mystery. I found the male characters boors to a man, and hoped like hell that Anna, the woman at the heart of the story, wouldn't get together with Robert, the *hero* of the tale. The ending is ambiguous so fingers crossed!
