I love a good romcom, abstract art covered, summer read, but this book was the most atrocious book I’ve ever finished. The characters are intolerable; Ava’s commentary is so oblivious and self-righteous, and Matt’s character is written as though he is two different people. The storyline is bland and every character is annoying in their own repetitive archetype they become. Every mention of Harold drove me closer to the edge and I was rooting against every character in this book.
Seriously, don’t waste your time.

✨ The Title/Cover Draw:
I am a HUGE Sophie Kinsella fan and love her books, although a few of the standalone (non-Shopaholic) ones have not been my favs. I had been wanting to read this one for awhile.

O começo realmente me irritou. A Ava completamente sem noção, mas depois ficou mais light, me identifiquei com algumas questões do Matt e foi menos pior do que imaginava.

So far this is my least favourite Sophie Kinsella book. I found the protagonist quite annoying, she seemed to have no self awareness and was very judgemental of others while calling herself open minded. As for the love interest, he was fairly boring, thought the friend groups were quite endearing, which really was what saved the book from the dnf. The story just felt like a bit of a rehash of cliches and tropes I’ve seen too many times. I will say though that the ending was quite sweet and the book did have it’s funny moments.
