Disclaimer: I have never read the Fifty Shades of Grey series of books, or any of the Twilight series that inspired it. I was unfortunate enough to watch all movies for both though.

I made my disclaimer because a lot of the jokes are "inside baseball" and while I'm sure, or at least I hope, a lot of the jokes went over my head... I did get the context of most of them.

Yes, this book was clever, and snarky, and I did find myself chuckling a few times, it was mostly just outright bashing and insulting towards the "twihards" and whatever the  Fifty fans call themselves.

Honestly, I don't think either of the series was good, but I am of the mindset that ANYTHING that gets people to read, is a good thing. And also, that when doing dark humor, there is "punching up", and then there is "punching down". This is most certainly in the "punching down" camp. Which, I don't really appreciate as a comedic vehicle.

I did the audio version of this book and it's such an unserious story I could barely hear it over the sound of my howling. I have never laughed out loud this much at a story. Absolutely stupid and hilarious. I loved it and will definitely be checking out other titles from this author.

Hilarious. An irreverent sense of humour all the way through poking fun at 50 shades. Was lolling till the end. Nice twists and turns, jokes riddled throughout. The authors work was an easy enjoyable read.
It highlighted a truth that may be missed in 50 shades how perspectives can change when someone is wealthy and a ridiculous person with money isnt interesting/mysterious, theyre still a ridiculous person.
Did its job. Short and sweet laugh.
