I read this because my 13 yo daughter's book group read it and I wanted to see what it was about. I found the writing to be pretty good, with a couple of minor plot holes that probably only adult readers would see. For the most part, I liked the main character. Impulsive, but learning to control it. Standing up for herself and her friend, but admitting her mistakes. Fast paced, too.

[re-read for my Greatest Hits Bookshelf Tour 2017]
It's crystal clear to me that I've become extremely bitter toward Rose and these first six books in general, but I had more fun with this book than I did with the first book because Adrian Fucking Ivashkov is in it. He's honestly the main, withstanding reason I love these books at all so it's really great to be revisiting his story again. I honestly couldn't give less of a fuck about Rose and Dimitri, of course, so I'm basically just zoning out during their parts until Christian, Lissa, or Adrian are around. This is THEIR show, not Rose and Dimitri's because Rose and Dimitri's show makes me wanna barf.

So they are orthodox Christians, celebrating catholic Christmas and giving presents (which we do not do on Christmas, but on new years)....
