I was expecting more. More angst . A slow-burn ! But wasn’t welcomed by what I had hoped for. It was a pretty instant attraction even after they were both well aware of each other’s identities - of who they were.

WOW. This story is heavy and dark and so emotional! I love a forbidden love story and this one was done so well. These two are toxic together

"Wren made me feel like she needed me like the next hit of a drug, like she needed air to breathe. She made me feel whole, like something I’d been missing for years."

Oh holy hell what a hot and dirty af book phew talk about needing a cigarette and a drink damn. This is my first book to read by either of these ladies. I knew when I read the blurb I was going to be in for one wild ride and mercy was I right. This book was dark, gritty, intense af and comes with triggers that are mentioned from the arthur's so you need to pay heed to them.
Wren hasn't had the best life due to the trauma in her past and uses drugs to escape, but she's carried it to far this time and finds herself in Florida at a rehab facility and discovers her past has come back to her present in the form of her male nurse Ro. This story tore me up with all these feels my poor lil dark heart wasn't ready for it. This was so good you won't want to put it down for a minute. It's definitely one not to be missed in 2021.

I was honestly expecting so much more from this book. I wanted it to be more angsty and more of a slow burn but there was instant lust between Wren and Ro. I wish there was more relationship development because they went from lusting each other to loving real quick. I also don’t think we saw the true struggle of addiction and trauma because Wren’s drug addiction seemingly disappeared and her trauma was never unpacked. I feel like we never actually got to see her heal which was disappointing and honestly sad. I also didn’t love Ro, he was pretty meh to me. I didn’t like how he spent a lot of time talking about how it was Wren’s fault that him and his brother got kicked out and didn’t understand why the parents gave them up. He also liked to say that he didn’t do anything too her (besides allowing her to be SA and wishing he did it first) and didn’t understand why she hated him too. Like you can maybe have that mentality when you’re a child but he was thinking that shit as a fully grown man. He did show remorse in the end but still. Mind you I have read some DARK romance where the hero does terrible shit to the heroine but they were written and redeemed in a certain way that Ro was not. The ending was also super rushed.

Dirty Monsters is definitely dark romance. I do like most of the book but do read triggers. Katie and Zoey do a remarkable job with story. Wren has tragic past that make her overdose that makes her parent send her to rehab. It is there that she has a reunion with Ro who is a nurse at the rehab center. Ro was her adopted brother and is one of her past demons. But they reconnected and nothing is the same. Their journey is so emotional. It is like two broken half of heart that finally come together but it will definitely be a journey that is up and down until you will want to throw the book. Katie and Zoey definitely put us on a rollercoaster that if you want to get off you couldn’t because you had to find out what was going to happen.

Dirty Monsters is emotional, dark, passion, and raw. It has wonderful characters. And the flow of story is amazing.

This book is heart-wrenching. Completely breath-taking. You won't be able to out it down. You'll feel all the emotions written in it...

Oh, God.

There were moments where I had to hold back my tears so that I could keep reading this book. It really came on heavy towards those last chapters. What else should have I expected after that first chapter? That one told so much of the story. How it all began.

Rohlen and Kane are twin brothers who grew up in the foster system because their parents were junkies. They were in and out of fosters homes until one couple adopted them. Things were not as they expected. After trying to have a child of their own, they finally did. With a turn of events, they un-adopted Ro and Kane.

Through out the years, there is one thing - one person - that has brought out different emotions and accounts from the two brothers: Wren. The daughter of the couple who had adopted them.

Ro and Wren are brought back together as Wren enters treatment into a rehab facility where Rohlen is a nurse. This time together again brings back all the memories and all the crap that Kane made them both go through. Wren and Ro explore what could be between them.

The past has a way of coming back to haunt them.

Despite this, Rohlen and Wren's relationship was beautiful. It's dark; it's taboo. It will grip your heart and squeeze. You'll love every second of it - I did.

I WANT MORE

This book is amazing. It pulled me out of a huge reading slump. It shook me up, broke my heart, and made me fall in love. Reader beware! This book has triggers and you should read at your own risk.
