A breezy light read. Somebody somewhere will love this reality TV drama vibe, and it does offer up some commentary on things that matter, but I personally would prefer a little more substance.

Such a perfect easy read for laying in the sun!! This book was adorable and I couldn’t get enough of it. This book is about a reunion that happens two decades after a show was premiered, the catch is she used to be inseparable with a co actor and now that they’re older there’s some tension😉 Such a fun and flirty read! I also loved that there were actual pages of the news arrivals from the gossip pages.

A story about two people who were more than friends being reunited in the future, “The Reunion” has all the ingredients to be a endearing romance novel but falls short. Both main characters Liv and Ransom have good chemistry on the pages but aren’t featured nearly enough. Their interactions are shorter than they should be, they are often interrupted (in ways that would play better on tv than in a book), and instead we are given Liv’s overly repetitive thought sequences about her past relationship and feelings for him. As someone who loves cute romance books, I wanted to see more depth on their current relationship or at least more detail or flashbacks on what their past relationship was like.
The lack of detail in this book also left me wanting more. There was play by play of what each character was eating or wearing, but the juicy details were left out. What does Ransom’s tattoo signify? What HAPPENED on that plane to Shanghai? What’s the backstory on strawberry milkshakes? Those are the details and make a reader really lean into a character in a book and makes them feel like a friend and I didn’t feel like I got that.
Do not get me wrong, the premise of the book is still good and overall carries the book even with the shortcomings. This was still a cute and fast read, and because of this I would tel anyone on the fence that it ill not hurt to give it a chance. For me, I just prefer books that leave me wanting more, and this book did not do that.

Thoroughly enjoyed this celebrity romance! Made me nostalgic for 90s teen TV shows. Loved the social media, news articles, and blog posts in between each chapter. Lighthearted, easy, fun read! The audiobook was an enjoyable read too!

I didn't care for the fake social media posts at all. Maybe I'm too old for that. It's hard to evaluate the rest of the story since taking the social media out eliminates a lot of the book.
