This book was urban fantasy meets mystery novel meets con artist. I really enjoyed that it had all of components in this book. I enjoyed the world build and the story of Ren. This was a mult POV and I liked to seeimg the different views. There was a lot to this book and at times I did have to go back and reread to make sure I didn't miss something. This book did take me a while to read because I really needed time to focus on the story and it was a long book. Towards the middle end I did feel like I was hitting a wall. This book gave a lot of information to build the world and I felt like it make this book slow paced. However, since I really liked the story I do plan to read the next book. This is a trilogy and I do want to see where the story goes and what comes next for the main characters.

This was a fun read! Lots of dense world-building and interwoven threads, some of which fell a bit flat, but overall, I could stop thinking about this book whenever I put it down.
