I would have finished much sooner but the fingernail and toenail clipping collecting grossed me out.

My daughter and I took our time through this one. Mainly because she’s starting to pick out the words and beat me to sentences. But still an entertaining one for us both. Ultra strange, but in a good way.

I LOVED these books growing up so I was super excited to see that Louis Sachar added the 4th book to the wacky Wayside School canon last year. It did not disappoint :)

I read these books in 5th grade and LOVED them. To say I'm stoked is an understatement.

Edit: I enjoyed it for nostalgic purposes, but it was objectively bad. I would've loved it back then though.

I grew up reading the Wayside books and knew, the moment I saw this, that I absolutely had to have it, to read to my daughter. It is a bit older than her age, but she adored me reading it to her at night. She loved the story and really enjoyed hearing all the funning happenings or Wayside school. It is definitely a book we recommend and we will be looking out for more, from this author!

This is sweet and funny, and surprisingly the PERFECT read for this time. I'm sure I'm not the only one who can identify with this Cloud of Doom feeling, and I almost think Sachar was prescient to write it to release in the middle of the COVID 19 quarantine. I loved how the characters progressed, and some storylines resolved in a way, though I would likely be happy to read another.

If ever there was a book for our times, it's this one. It gives a great, but lighthearted, voice to what it's like living under a Cloud of Doom.
