I'm a huge short story junkie, and honestly I don't think a single story collection has ever given me as much sheer giddy delight as this one did. It bounces back and forth effortlessly between brutal splatterpunk horror and Pythonesque comic absurdity (oftentimes within the same story). I've always had a mental block against exploring bizarro fiction since it (probably unfairly) always struck me as kind of a pointless self-indulgent genre, but I'm very glad I took a chance on this book and let Fitts prove me wrong.

A very short book of short stories by a man who clearly loves metal/punk. I really enjoyed it. Some stories were funny, some a little sad, and some kind of sweet??? Kind of. Anyway, editing could have been better. There are some pretty obvious mistakes and it isn't like it would have taken very long to proof read. At the same time it didn't really bother me. It was clear what it should be and it didn't impact my enjoyment of the stories over all. It was my kind of humor and deadpan reactions. Also, I know we are not supposed to judge a book by it's cover but screw that because this cover is amazing. Cheers to the artist. I hate bad book covers, it detracts from the book and I don't think it is shallow to say that. Books are composed of two different art forms; the writing itself and the cover art and the cover art is perfection.

Nothing ground breaking to see here but a good way to spend a few hours.
