Hi! I just wanted to say your book had a profound impact on me--it's one of those books that you think about long after you've finished it, and in my case it's been days and I cannot stop thinking about so many aspects of the book. The fungi metaphor at the end, the scary parallels of what we are facing right now in Gaza, the characters and their very human complexities (esp Red's), and overall your story telling. Honestly, thank you. Thank you for writing it, for existing, for putting pen to paper to write something that is along the lines of what 1984 was to my childhood and shaping of my worldview. I'm so glad I found you through TikTok and Instagram recently because if Gaza and I wanted to support you because I think you are so smart but now I also found my favorite book of 2023!! Thank you

This was really really good. I couldn't put it down, and so much resonated. It did tell rather than show a lot, but I'm going to forgive that this time, because it felt authentic to the journal style of writing.
