The idea of the novel is great and it sounded incredibly intriguing. However the author tries to cover so much of history in one small book that it reads poorly with its formatting.

This novel was definitely interesting- especially since so many authors had their voice in it. It follows the lives of King Henry VIII’s wives, as they married and died. Some of the voices seem more authentic than others. My favorite was the voice of Kateryn Parr, who was the only one of his wives that managed to outlive him aside from his “sister.”

Really good read and a page-turner! Found it a lot better then I expected it to be and it definitely deserves more attention.

The wives—all of them—they were necessary. I needed them for heirs. —Henry VIII

Loved it! I've read a LOOOOOT of Tudor novels in my day, but this is one of my favorites. Each chapter is voiced by a different author, and I love how they each gave a credible voice to Henry's six Queens without making them seem like caricatures,or going too over-the-top. If you love all things Tudor, then I absolutely recommend this one. It's definitely in my top 5 favorite Tudor novels.

It's hard to read a book and then write about it when there are multiple different perspectives and voices. I have always been interested in the wives of Henry the VIII though I found their voices to be almost boring, like I was reading a history book and not something where the people were formed into characters people could really relate to. Though, I found some parts of the book enjoyable to read.

It was pretty dynamic, I liked the different voices of each queen. Idk I don't read a lot of historical fiction, but I feel like this was a good intro to the Wives of Henry VIII.
