Sometimes it's just pleasantly surprising to read a book about good people. I felt like I kept waiting on the other shoe to drop about Gil, but he was just a good person, and his "normal" life is interesting and poetic. I enjoyed the cast of characters he surrounded himself with, and I found him to be such a likeable main character. This is a quiet little book, but it is poetic and sure packs a punch.

It took some time for me to get hooked into this book but I enjoyed it by the end. I like how it connects the environment and people being a part of each other.
