Even though we know what happened to Adena at the end of Powerless, this was even more heart breaking reading it from Adena & Mak's POV. The fact Adena & Mak didn't get as much time as they should have is what broke me reading this. 

I love how we got a to really know Adena and you can see why Pae loves her so much, they really are the definition of found family. Mak was the perfect opposite of Adena and they compliment each other so well. Mak was finally letting someone in to see the real him and trusting someone with the details of his past.

I enjoyed getting to know Adena more and see how she was spending her time during the trails. The chapters around her death were heartbreaking and beautiful.
