At the beginning, I wasn’t grabbed by this, but once the kids cross over into the other world, it really took off like a shot.

I had so much fun with this, and found it surprisingly tense. Much more fantastical in setting than my first Goosebumps adventure (Welcome to Dead House), and a bit more whimsical than outright creepy. But the majority of the book is an extended chase sequence and it doesn’t really let up once it gets going and it has a WHOPPER of an ending. Legit had to stare at the page for a second once I read the final words.

This was a blast! Going to probably read A Night in Terror Tower next!

It’s a Goosebumps book written largely for children- it has a predictable ending, silly dialogue, and needs much suspension of disbelief but it is fun, nostalgic, and fairly imaginative at its core. I remember this being my favorite, probably 20-22 years ago now, and couldn’t resist bringing it home when I saw it in a thrift store, then reading it in about 30 minutes.  I will always be a Goosebumps kid at heart.

This one was cute! "Let's play a game, but we're not telling you the rules even though you continue to tell us that you've never played before and that you don't want to play now." Sounds like my brothers...
