I’m very fond of the author’s writing and his small meandering story beats. This is no exception. I liked how fae Bast really seems, and the story surrounding Rike hit hard in all the right ways.

Like anything written by Rothfuss, this book is beautiful. Despite the themes I've added to the content warnings, it's mostly a charming and clever book, filled with mysteries and (some) answers.
Bonus points for being explicitly trans supportive, twice, and for making Bast's obviously fluid sexuality canon. The best thing about it is the language/prose, though. This little book was everything I wanted and more.
