THIS.

This is a fantastic book about two of the most lovable protagonists in a while; a clever, deceitful demon naned Little Ash, and an angel who subsists off good and whose identity is variable and changes depending on what it needs to do. The characterization is strong, the prose is delightful, the world is rich, and the cast is lovable. The end did feel a little rushed and a bit nonsensical, though.

This was one of those books that I enjoyed while reading but couldn't ever get myself to pick back up. The ending was lovely, though, and I think I would read another Sacha Lamb book.

Amazing historical fantasy! Loved getting to dive into a culture and era that I’m not as familiar with. The relationship between the angels and their collective growth was so heartwarming, I’d love to see a second book about their next set of adventures
