Still a fantastic concept, with heart, insight, and beautifully written passages. I hope there are more to come in this series.

"The whole point of love is to write your own version of normal."

I'm a little stuck on where to begin, so I'm just going to go in on the first thing that's coming to mind as I write this and that's the scope.

In the books that precede this, we're limited to A's POV in Every Day and Rhiannon's in Another Day but here, we get A, Rhiannon, X, M, and Nathan, and that isn't to mention the half dozen one-off characters like the 98-year-old woman on her death bed or the couple that meets at a book festival. This change in POV as well as scope really served to step up the message of these books and to really tackle the philosophy and general mindfuckery that would come with switching bodies every single day.

Even though they creeped me out almost to the level that Caroline Kepnes did with You and Hidden Bodies, X's chapters were the most captivating ones. It was fascinating to me to see a character who was the antithesis of A and see how he thought, how he operated in the world. His utter lack of remorse was stomach-churning but it was also some of the most well-written work I've yet read from Levithan.

Other standouts were the chapter where A has to get a tattoo for someone and has to decide what to get tattooed on this person's body; I really loved their thought process on it and the choice they ended up making, the whole thing with the couple meeting at the book festival nearly caused me to burst into tears, it was too beautiful, and basically everything Rhiannon had to say in terms of being with A. That final speech she gives was incredibly moving and it will be stuck in my memory for years to come.

If I hadn't already listened to Sadie by Courtney Summers, then this would be a contender for best audiobook of the year for me. I love full cast audiobooks, if only just to see how the directors, producers, actors, and sound mixers decide to use that full cast. This benefitted greatly from a full cast and I couldn't imagine experiencing it any other way. There was also a rather lovely little motif wherein whoever was just reading would introduce the next character; like, say, Kathleen McInerney was just reading as Rhiannon, then the next section was an A section, Kathleen McInerney would say, "A," before Alex McKenna would start reading the chapter. This is true of every single character and every single introduction, reminding the listener that everyone is connected. It was really a lovely sentiment.

This whole book was just completely different than what came before it and I loved it. Even though I loved Every Day and A's story, I really loved the inserts of other characters here and there, helping to put A's relationship with Rhiannon in a fresh perspective.

I loved this. It was so much bigger, so different, so much more than I ever expected from it and I'm incredibly pleased by it all. When I first read Every Day back in 2012, I thought it was a stand-alone, so this book is just the greatest cherry on top I could possibly imagine. Especially since Another Day felt so unnecessary, I'll admit I was a bit worried about this book, but I'm not disappointed in the least.

Great job, Levithan. You did it.

I loved these books when I was a teenager, the only reason I saw he made a third book was because my high school had a copy and a student I worked with decided to take the book out and read it herself. If I was 13 maybe 15 I would probably love this book.
I wish I just left it at the second book to be honest. I did however appreciate the closer of the third book.
This one did take me a bit to get through and while to read, but I did manage to get through it.

What i think of David Levithan's writings so far: usually it has kinda meandering & jumbled plot execution but often has very very emphatic & thoughtful insights, which I like.

As far as sequels go, this one wasn’t bad. It didn’t quite live up to the first book (but then again sequels rarely do). But there was just something missing. I think part of it was because the switching of bodies somehow managed to take a back seat. There was so much focus on figuring out how to stop X, which wasn’t a bad path to follow necessarily, but I was missing more of how A dealt with being in a different body each day. There was a lot of potential with the side characters as well that could’ve been more developed (or hey maybe even have a book of their own). Overall, a very enjoyable book, and I still love the concept, but there was the potential for more.
