The first thing you must know is that I am completely biased toward Beauty and the Beast. It's my favorite fairy tale. I am also very biased towards male POV. Those things together already made me want to read this and rate it high. Add in the illustration, the FULL COLOR, and it was definitely a five-star read for me. I loved it. Was worth every penny. If you like Beauty and the Beast, this one is a must have!

'Disney Manga: Beauty and the Beast - The Beast's Tale' by Mallory Reaves with art by Gianluca Papi and Studio Dice is a manga based on the live action adaptation of the Disney animated film and shows the story from one side.

Beast wasn't always a beast in physical form, but he crossed the wrong person and got cursed. Now he thinks no one can love him and he's running out of time. Then Belle showed up.

I liked this full color manga and the art is really good. It's a good adaptation of one side of the story. I'm looking forward to reading Belle's side of the story.

I received a copy of this manga through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This manga is actually a part of a manga duology with one in the narration of Belle and one in the narration if the Beast. This is the story of the Beast.

(First of all, thank you NetGalley and Publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest opinion)

Starting by the fact that my favourite Disney film is Beauty and the Beast is hard for me to not love anything related to it. So, of course, I love reading this manga. I enjoy so much that the story was told by Beast POV something I want to see and learn and I love the Beast draw (more than Belle). The story and the ARC of this manga is about the Disney live action plot. I love more the animation, though. Maybe I would try to make another version, not related to any of the movies, but still, I will always love all Beauty and the Beast adaptations. And I'm thrilled to read Belle's Tale!

Follows the movie quite closely so no complaints from me.

Thus one felt a little forced and unnatural. I didn't particularly care for it. I enjoyed the art, though it had some glaring inconsistencies. I do appreciate that books like this exist and have the potential to help kids enjoy reading.

Just a fun little read about beauty and the beast. It’s fun to read the story from the beasts perspective.

The art in this version of the story was just as beautiful and whimsical. I liked it a lot even though it wasn’t as color and “popping”.

According to me Beast’s part of the story was a lot more intriguing and interesting than Belle’s part. It was nice to get to know him a little better and read about his feelings as they evolved for Belle.

Like in the first book I felt like this was a bit rushed. Some more details could be added and smoother changes between scenes would have made it easier to understand that something new in the story was happening.

Thank you to NetGalley for the review copy! Even though I got to read this for free this review is a 100% my thoughts about the book.

I love the original story and was really excited to discover it again in manga format.
It’s a very quick read and follows the most recent movie quite well. There’s nothing new or original added to the story as far as I know.

For some reason, I preferred this version more than Belle’s story.
Also for the drawings, I found them better in this one!
