A querky little play, with a lot of nonsense being spoken and harsh criticism of the time periode - and justly so.

Like all of Wilde’s work, this play was witty, entertaining and ridiculous. However, the opinions expressed on marriage, Americans, and the ideal husband etc. were outrageous but not outrageously funny. I feel like this didn’t quite strike the right balance of comedy and commentary that Wilde usually does. Also, he repeats a lot of ideas from the Picture of Dorian Gray, so that it felt slightly repetitive.
It was a very enjoyable read however, the bar is high for Wilde and I wouldn’t say this is one of his best.

I am not usually into plays when it comes to reading, but Wilde is always brilliant and entertaining. I don't think there is much more that can be said about it.

A nice little short story. Starts off very dry and I assumed it would progress and end in the same vein. But by Jove! there was so much drama packed into this short story act. There were so many memorable quotes. There were so many snide and sly remarks.
