This is very painful to say this. But this is the first ever Riordan book with this rating. I'm terribly sorry D:

There is a fault on my end. Both April and May have been some lowest points of my mental health and with managing life's responsibilities. But thankfully by the time I write this I'm finishing my short course with just 3 last (the newer ones) assessments left.

But when I attempted to finish this once and for all for the sake to finally return all the books to the library, I can remember why it felt easy to halt reading this book.

I've finally confirmed that having the Roman emperors be evil and cruel half-gods seeking the ambition for godhood is too cheesy. And Medea making a comeback as the Triumvirate's sorceress instead of Circe? Disappointing there.

I'm also sad with Jason's death. I never really liked him as much as Percy and Nico. But damn he just got killed like that? :') I feel sorry for Piper. But then I can't blame her after realising her feelings for him were just by-products of the deception done by Hera and the pressure from Aphrodite.

Now we know more stuff about Meg! But Demeter is still not here????

Apollo did had some bland and boring moments. I'm so sorry it felt bad for me, an Apollo stan, to say it. But yeah, I had to release it.

I honestly thought this was the 2nd book while just getting back in reading by the middle part of the book. I thought the pacing was incredibly slow compared to the previous series with Heroes of Olympus and the first Percy Jackson books.

But as usual the ending gave me redemption points. I love the Melaia. I love Apollo's tremendous character development after experiencing heavy human emotions such as guilt (for breaking more promises), regret and grieve (with the deaths of Jason and Crest).

I'm very much looking forward to meet the crew at Camp Jupiter again!!

I’ve never had so much beef with a single author. Rick, when I catch you we are throwing hands
