I enjoyed this book. The characters were all three dimensional, The plot was strong. The writing was good.

The world building was better than average, but really lacked any real explanation as to how the mirror world functioned or came to be; let alone any indication as to how it was connected or related to reality. Why DID the house exist in both worlds.

Also lacking was any real explanation about why the original bargain that started all this was ever made in the first place.

All this having been said I really enjoyed the read.

I would really love a prequel or a sequel; I think there was enough left unanswered to warrant one or the other.

The style of writing was too almost poetic in a sense of describing everything with similies or trying to be more creative but just seemed to be trying too hard.

This took me a while to get into, but it was well worth it. So very atmospheric.

Absolutely slow with unnecessarily wordy/flowery text.

"No one loved like a girl."

This book is like The Raven Boys for depressed, poetry-loving, 20-something lesbians. The prose is utterly decadent, and you really need to fit your reading pace to the pace of the book.
There could be a whole second book to answer the questions that arise in the five or so final chapters.
But wow. What an experience.
