An engrossing thriller. While it didn't have me on the edge of my seat, it's definitely a page turner and I think this book would make a great movie.

‘I read somewhere that every life is the story of a single mistake, and then what happens after. Whether it’s brought into the light and owned up to. Or left buried in the darkness of the soul where it all just multiplies in consequences and festers into something far worse. One wrong decision that can’t be taken back. Even the best of lives has one.’

This book is a fast paced thriller. It kept me on my toes and I did want to read it more and more until I got to the bottom of the twisting storyline. However, it is forgettable and average and like a lot of other thriller stories out there. It’s not a phenomenal-go-tell-everyone-about-it story but it’s not a never-go-there-it-bored-the-hell-outta-me story either. It is a down the middle rodeo, where you are bound to stay on your horse, and not be thrown off track.

All the way through I had many questions, and every chapter was left on a cliffhanger which is right up my street. But a few of my questions was down to the Americanisms. It’s based it the USA, so some references I didn’t understand, but it doesn’t hinder the story line in any way.

I recommend if you like crime based thrillers but basically, it was OK. That’s it, really.

3/5 from me.

‘I didn’t see it as right or wrong. Only that fate had given me a way out. And I had to take it. My heart felt like it was beating at a hundred miles per hour.’
