Another great book. laughed until I cried. Lots of romance and crazy family dynamics. Sometimes money can buy happiness.

Jane gets the raw end of the deal after her parents both die from cancer. She is responsible for taking over her families business and taking care of her sisters. Her sisters don't do anything for themselves, they rely on Jane to do everything for them. If she isn't where they expect her to be they call her complaining and yelling. While the three of them are at a party they end up ripping her dress and tripping her, leaving her on the floor, until prince charming comes and rescues her.

Prince charming is Brock Wellington, he picks her up off the floor after one of her shoes breaks. He sends his brother to the store to buy her another pair of shoes too. After his parents died in a plane crash, he became a yes man. He's afraid of something happening to his grandfather, so whatever he asks of Brock, he says yes. That includes the bachelor auction, which includes getting married to the highest bidder.

Brock's grandfather sets it up so that Jane is cleaning the ranch house while Brock is there in an attempt to set them up. With the auction coming up, Brock is willing to do whatever it takes to make his grandfather happy and keep the woman of his dreams... Cinderella.

This is the first book I've read by Rachel Can Dyken, and I have to say that I'm glad that I got the opportunity. This story was cute and everything that a modern day Cinderella story should be. The story made me smile, laugh, and left me hoping that these two got their HEA. The chemistry between Jane and Brock was sizzling and I loved the interactions with them and the animals. Well the rooster, the donkey, and the horses. I'll leave you to wonder how they fit in :) I didn't really care for Jane's sisters and I was glad to see them get theirs in the end, but I wish we could have seen them suffer. Great story!!

I cannot stress enough how much I love the Wellington boys. They may be over the top, arrogant, and um, all about the "cock and ass" (the animals...at the ranch?!? What were you thinking?) but I would welcome them to my house any day.

Brock, Brant, and Bentley are all lost in their own way. I want to hug them, put them in my pocket, and party with their wild selves...or boring depending on my mood.

Each copes differently with their own personal demons. Brock, the eldest and yes man of the three, learns a valuable lesson. Sometimes it's hard to say yes and it would be better to say no!

If you have read The Bet series, you will love the Bachelors. If you haven't read them, conquer them too. But most of all, smile because Grandma Nadine will find you! ( Run from the woman in leopard print- don't question it, just run!) Only kidding Grandma Nadine!

If you like fun, wildly inappropriate conversations, and some romance too- one click now!
If you like Cinderella stories that having magical animals, look no further!
If you think I'm exaggerating, you might be right but you might be wrong...

Rachel Van Dyken has written another magical tale. it's filled with humor, live, and enough dirty stuff to make Grandma Nadine proud! I loved every naughty minute of it!

This was my first introduction to Rachel Van Dyken, I know, I know I'm late to the fan train. I have to say that if all of her books are like this one I'm in for a wonderful reading relationship with this author. She seemed to have the perfect combination of wit, sass, steam, and hilarity in this book. Now onto the characters!!

Jane aka "Plain Jane" is always doing for others especially her sisters. Her parents died when they were younger and she promised her father to keep the family together. Not only does Jane run the family's cleaning business she literally cooks, cleans and does anything her sisters need. Jane as a character charmed me just like she charmed the Wellington's. She is a genuine person, she believes in doing right by other people. Jane by chance runs into Brock and he seem slightly interested, of course instantly she talks herself out of that idea. I really enjoyed that Jane had the same thoughts and ideas that a normal woman would have, why would a billionaire be interested in plain old me?? However I think it's the fact that Jane is so down to earth that attracts Brock. She loves to clean, she loves to eat, she likes to laugh, and seems to enjoy life itself.

Brock is labeled as "Boring Brock" by his twin brothers. It seems to fit actually since he thinks telling someone No will bring them instant death. Both of Brock's parent's died when he was 12 and since then he has felt that he has to provide for his twin brothers. I must say while his twin brothers are crazy I think their hearts are in the right place most of the time. Brock really comes off an ass in some parts of this book, but I think that is needed because he never really faced his past. Okay, maybe not needed but sets the tone for him coming into his new self. I really liked the new Brock better than the old one... his character development was worth while.

The characters as a whole made this book totally worth every word. From the main characters, to the twin brothers and finally all the farm animals. This was carefully crafted to be a spin off of Cinderella but ended in such a better way. I am really excited to read the next books in the series.

Thank you to Forever Romance and Rachel Van Dyken for a copy in lieu of my honest review.

This was my first Rachel Van Dyken and I surely will not be my last. This is a real life Cinderella story.
We have Jane as Cinderella, her 2 older sisters as the mean stepsisters. The Prince in Brock, and the fairy godmother in Nadine, ( She's Grandma Nadine from the BET series apparently) Brock's manwhore twin brothers, Bentley and Brent, plus Brocks grandfathers. The rats even show up!

Lets just say that this Cinderella story has a modern twist and is just as delicious to fans of fairytales. The sisters I thought were a little over the top mean. The chemistry between Boring Brock and Plain Jane was off the charts!! Brock, of course, lands in the suds and has to climb his way out and he does so in a spectacular way! I can't wait to see the twins stories, I just know they are going to be good!

I really enjoyed this book. Definitely a Cinderella retelling but I appreciate the addition of an insane rooster! Jane was adorable although her sisters deserved to be chucked out a window. Brock was a tougher character for me to enjoy because he was such a strong character in many ways but yet was still caving to his control freak grandfather. It was just a little hard to reconcile. His twin brothers though were adorable and definitely redeemed some of the areas where the book fell flat.

3 out of 5 stars.

Contemporary Cinderella retelling. Not really for me - the hero was too much of an entitled asshole, but the heroine could tell that it was just his (emotional) pain talking and didn't take it personally - no thanks! Add in the fact that the hero keeps noting how the heroine reminds him of his mom (uh...) and that, while both hero and heroine are introduced with two terrible siblings, the hero's are quickly redeemed as lovable scamps/comic relief while the heroine's stay awful throughout, and it's a wonder I finished it. Not terrible - the comic relief brothers were occasionally pretty darn entertaining - but the weird gender politics made it clear that this was not really my kind of book.

This is a book review for a new to me author named Rachel Van Dyken's new book The Bachelor Auction.

The Bachelor Auction is the first book in what I am happy to say will be a series called the Bachelors of Arizona. The tag line for this book on the author's webpage is "Cinderella never had to deal with this crap." And that tagline is a perfect description for this first book in this new series.

This is a variation of the Cinderella fairy tale retold with a modern twist. Jane is running her own cleaning business while living with her two older sisters who greatly take advantage of her. Jane is trying to honor her father's last wish to keep the family together while running the cleaning business her father started. Her sisters are both lawyers who expect Jane to take care of all of the household bills, the cleaning, and cook for them. Jane dares to break out one night and goes out and meets Brock.

Brock is the Prince Charming in this wonderful story. Brock and his younger twin brothers were raised by their grandfather after the untimely death of their parents early in their lives. Brock has always been the responsible one who always does what his grandfather wants simply to avoid disappointing his grandfather. But this has led to the twins calling him Boring Brock.

Brock is the grandson running his grandfather's company, although his grandfather is still in charge. Brock's grandfather requests a meeting with him and than surprises him with an announcement that he will be marrying and that he is about to be auctioned off in a bachelor auction.
And this is where the fun really begins. Jane and Brock meet at a party right after this meeting and well yes, true to the Cinderella fairy tale, Jane loses her shoe. Except that it is a plain old boring black pump. Brock falls for Jane or rather Plain Jane as she calls herself.

Following along with the fairy tale, Jane returns to her every day life. Until she receives a job offer to clean and reopen a ranch house that she can't refuse. Figuring that this is a chance to make some changes in her life, she takes the job offer never expecting what follows.

This is a fairly fast paced story line with fairly well developed characters. Some of the characters are not as well developed as Jane's and Brock's but hopefully they will develop in the next book. This is a wonderful read and I am looking forward to reading more from Ms. Van Dyken soon.

I hope that you will give this book a shot and fall in love with it like I have.
