I got a bit teary reading this book. Imagine how hard it is for them to live behind ‘fences’. And the way her father made her wish come true is so painfully heartwarming.

A young girl only knows the refuge camp her family lives in. One day her father takes her to the top of a tree so she can see the world. This book is a touching depiction of life in camps and some of the issues and problems within them. Nice, gentle book

every time I read a book about wars and innocent individuals struggles I feel so helpless and sorrowful. I’m so grateful Kaila was able to make her legs take her all around the big world. The whole situation is painful, but still there’s some hope.
