I liked this this story had a semi douchebag in it that turned out to just be a giant sweetheart.
I however had some issues with the sex scenes; they seemed kind of strange to me. But I am looking forward to seeing more of Hannah

"The second I saw Skylar, it was like a punch to the gut. I knew I wasn't going to make it out the other side without some collateral damage."

Oh, I was in desperate need of such a fantastic, funny, light and entertaining read. Time just flew by and without realizing it, I was done with the book. Leaving me with the thought "I want more"

"Abe Davis is a teenage dream, and now he's mine, too."

Everything in this book seems flawless. The plot, the writing style, the way the story unfolds. Neat, easy. Fascinating characters, humorous situation, intriguing sidekicks. I love the chemistry and attraction between Sky and Abe and I love how my stomach kept fluttering when they kissed or had they romantic moments. Is it bad if I say "I want my very own Abe."?

"One swipe. One date. Sweet. Bratty. Kind - and all mine."

The Lying Hours is without doubt one of my top favorite reads this year! Swoon-worthy romance at it's best!

Abe and Sky meet through a dating app in a weird unconventional way. Someone is not being very truthful about certain things so when the truth does come out will all be forgiven..

I feel like this book was too short and not a lot happened. I kind of wanted more from it, which is why I docked it a star. I also thought their two fights were pretty petty and not worth fighting over!

Other than that, I really enjoyed this story and the two main characters. I like how the story ended and am looking forward to the next book with Hannah and Rex!

skyler is annoying and abe is HONESTLY not tha great. there were a few cute moments here and there but i really wanted it to be over and it makes no sense for JB to be that way. however....... this book reminded me of violet and zeke.... the only valid couple to ever come out of this series and now i miss them.

(i always forget to log books plus my finals are this month... bye until mid-june i guess!)

Audiobook Review

The Lying Hours is a modern take on Cyrano de Bergerac. I was worried I’d spend the majority of the book just waiting for the main character to be caught in a lie, but it’s not nearly as bad as I feared.

The big douchebag in this book is Abe’s friend JB, who he impersonates. I couldn’t understand why Abe would enable such an unrepentant jerk. JB is not funny or remotely charming, and Abe lost major points with me for refusing to stand up to him. I liked that Skylar knows her worth and doesn’t put up with crap from either guy. Her chemistry with Abe is just ok for me because she’s honestly too good for him.

I’ve been a big fan of the How to Date a Douchebag series. Its hallmarks are laugh-out-loud humor and flawed characters that you grow to love. There is fun banter in this book— albeit a little too much messaging back and forth—but I simply didn’t warm to the characters the way I typically do.

You don’t get much better than the narrating duo of Jacob Morgan and Muffy Newtown. They are always so expressive and have perfect comedic timing, so the audiobook is an easy and enjoyable listen.

When Sara Ney announced she was releasing another Douchebag book, I knew I needed it in my life immediately. The Lying Hours hilariously takes us into the world of online dating. With it's fun banter and great character chemistry, this book is romcom magic.

I adored Abe. What a good guy. Sweet, funny, and smart. Loyal, probably to a fault. I hated to see his kindness be taken advantage of. I will admit there were moments where I want to shake him and tell him to "man up."

And then there is Skyler. I liked her. Down to earth and relatable. She also knew what she wanted and was not afraid to voice it. Her filter is nonexistent. Combined with her best friend, Hannah, they were forces to reckoned with.

Abe and Skyler really worked together because they're both genuinely good people. The banter between them was my favorite thing about this book. Their connection really shines. I absolutely loved then together.

I love going back into the douchebag world. It's always a good time. While The Lying Hours was not favorite, I did still greatly enjoy it. If you're looking for a quick, fun and light read then I highly recommend this one. It can definitely be read as a standalone.
