The Good Immigrant gave an insight into the lives of black, Asian and other ethnicity living in Britain. Since it is the collection from 21 authors, I enjoyed some and dragged myself through some. I don't particularly like the story with intricate and lengthy metaphors, which I felt unnecessary to demonstrate the points. But overall, I appreciate their struggle as strangers in their own country.

I had long since realised that if there was greatness in Britain, then it lay in its everyday citizens, and not in its institutions. Britain was not great because of its papers and politicians who relentlessly denigrated us, it was great in spite of them. (...) But that wasn't a spirit that I felt my country was doing nearly enough to nurture.
This was such a great collection, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in immigrant stories of Britain. Some of the articles in this are going to stay with me for a very, very long time.

some of the stories are excellent, A Guide To Being Black was probably my favorite
