This was a great read detailing Juliet’s journey to delving further into her queerness, encountering white feminism and inauthentic allyship, exploring life in a new city, and learning more about herself and what she wants out of a relationship.

The illustrations were also absolutely stunning.

The only thing I wish we got was more development of side characters but otherwise I enjoyed this read and would recommend it.

One thing about me? I will always enjoy the story of a queer person coming into their own and living their best life. The art in this graphic novel adaptation was also lovely!

This was fantastic. It carries such a strong message on white feminism and womanism (which I had to Google, I had no idea!) and queer identities and intersectional identities and finding true community. Very powerful and with so much food for thought for 'just' a YA novel. I loved all the characters and what they beough to the story by bringing up some very complex issues with sometimes just one sentence or question. I try to educate myself well but just this graphic novel showed me I have a lot to learn about still.
Also we love happy sapphics and this story is full of them.
I guess my only gripe is that I'm not sure it fully works as a graphic novel adaptation. I'm not the biggest fans of graphic novels to start with, but I felt in this one like I missed context or like I skipped panels when I didn't. But that's just me I guess.
I am very much going to buy the novel itself right now. I need to read this again in its original form and love it more!

A beautiful coming of age story about Juliet a young lesbian who wants to find who she is. This story follows her during the summer where she discovers the POC queer community, herself and love. I really really liked it
