Darren has done it again! This is a great story, that fits perfectly into the others with a touch of romance mixed in with lots of magic, pain, loss and fear. Great Book

DNF at 29%.

I really thought I could get through the series. I was obsessed with Darren Shan when I was younger, but I'm more grown up and can't seem to enjoy it in the same way anymore. Maybe one day I'll come back to it when I need something easy to read

Really odd feelings bout this book. Everybody says its best and before they said things I assumed it would be the best but it really wasn't...i loved it, dont get me wrong, it was REALLY goood, but not my #1 favorite....idk, Demon Thief was kinda phenomenal to me.
What I find weird about books is that, i truly cannot be scared. I have read some intense, gory books that are freaky and creepy to many people, that i'm still not scared of. For pete's sake I read the Demonata at like 1 in the morning!

The apocalypse came and the world burned. But it wasn't the end, and out of the destruction, new life has emerged. Bec is back to face the Demonata. After centuries of imprisonment, she's more powerful than ever, but the demons no longer stand alone. Something else has crawled out of the darkness with her. Lord Loss is no longer humanity's greatest threat. I loved that this book was told from Bec’s perspective and deepened her character in the modern world. The lore and world-building expanded in ways that raised the already high stakes. The reveal of the new character that gained sentience was terrifying to think about. All the character deaths in this book were brutal.

"It's the darkness when a light is quenched, the silence when a sound fades. It takes the final breath from the smallest insect and the mightiest king. It knows us all, stalks us all, and in the end claims us all."
