I had to read this book for work and was not expecting to enjoy it very much but I actually thought it was a fantastic read. I think the key to its readability is the fact that it's an oral history - so instead of a dry recitation of historical facts, we're hearing about this fascinating story directly from the people who lived it. You really feel for everyone involved, and it's a poignant look at what war does to families.
