Can’t get into it. The first two in the series were fun, easy light reads but I’m just not enjoying this one.

I didn’t expect the ending and that’s a high compliment!!! Rereading for a second time, I loved seeing all the pieces that led the crew to that resolution. Jack and Alan’s relationship is so much fun to watch unfold. A worthwhile and fun ending to the trilogy.

There’s murder and danger and high stakes and yet I walked away feeling like this book is a cozy sweater which is the weirdest but best explanation of this book I can give.

Better than the second one, not as good as the first. Well braided story lines with previously introduced characters. Interesting take on class wars and ideology.

An enjoyable read, mainly because the cast of characters is so enjoyable. I liked the banter and push and pull dynamic between Hawthorne and Alan, but wasn’t rooting for their love story as much as in the previous books.

I was left a bit wanting with the way the plot wrapped up though. Like I’m still a bit confused as to what actually happened with the allstone. As some other reviewers said the I thought the Fae character’s role could have been more significant somehow. And, the resolution being that now there is more equitable access to magic but only if you’re a landowner felt tone deaf.

I kept finding myself just wanting more of Robin and Edwin throughout the book.
