There’s absolutely no depth to the story.

The idea of people essentially being brought back to life, but go entirely pale and be oppressed by most of the society, sounds like a great idea with some potential to become a good book. Unfortunately, this book pretty much threw all that potential away.

Personally, I couldn’t really sympathize or feel anything for any of the characters. All of them felt undeveloped and one dimensional, almost like they only had one personality trait, and I pretty much disliked that one trait each character had.

I feel like I almost got whiplash from all the turns in this story. Jed’s friends went from being super close to him, to being ready to kill, in what? Three days? Sadie turned him into this “zombie”-like creature because she loved him, just to leave him - twice actually. Jed’s dad just turned on him entirely.

It just doesn’t make sense. I just didn’t understand the point of 99% of the book. Especially not the ending.
