This book was AMAZING! I really liked it, however I'm not sure if I could say it was my favourite of the series. It was fast paced, exciting, dramatic and full of mystery and suspense like the others in the series. The way a thriller should be!

I loved the twist about Marianne shown earlier in the series and think it was great that Becker continued his! The blood succession is shown and it ends with a slight twist that has a big effect on Jonathan!

A good read!

In this, the 4th installment of the Darkside series, Johnathan Starling is put through his paces once more and has to survive with odds against him as Thomas Ripper's death initiates the Blood Succession. With many of Darkside's big players making moves of their own, Johnathan gets swept up in to a game of chess that's far beyond him.
I enjoyed this book much more then the last two. There is a more cohesive story however the many overlapping stories can be quite confusing and I'm sure I missed some of the nuances of certain subplots. As this is a young adult series I feel you are probably meant to get quite swept up in the quick pace of the story which is not how I read it. Tom Becker has an incredible ability to leave you hanging on every chapter which I applaud. And this has left me excited to read the final installment of the series.

Oh I do love the Darkside series. In my quest to finish the many series of books that I have started (The Hunger Games, Geek Girl etc.,) I decided to read the 4th book in the Darkside series. It was bloody good.

In keeping with the gothic dark nature of the book we are once again thrust underground into the Darkside, a Victorian city that runs parallel to modern day London. We meet the same cast of characters from the previous books but what is impressive about Timecurse is that we start to see a different side to some of the more twisted characters. We see that the nature of our villains isn’t one dimensional.

Further villains are thrown into the mix and Jonathan Starling, once again, gets caught up in the drama…but he is also one step closer to finding out what happened to his mother.

Basically, Timecurse is boss and it has made me all the more eager to read the final book in the series.

Timecurse (Darkside, #4) by Tom Becker is available now.
