art, colours and stories were all very heartwarming, sometimes with an unexpected ending but always very fitting!

While the artwork is beautiful I found the stories to be a bit simplistic and not particularly satisfying

Not my fave read I liked how the book was drawn in colored pencil very unique. I felt like the graphic novel lacked something. I wanted more and more development withen the story. I saw a metaphor of greed and capitalism. That even though the flower can grow so much if still planted. The king wants it all to himself. Some rental places have rules that people can't grow their own gardens and I find it absurd because we live in nature where we could feed ourselves and there's rules not allowing that. Plus the second one critiques a system. Helping one family is not going to fix poverty and inequality. I loved the name one that was my favorite a "dead name" in literal terms. A new name can bring so much joy.

I liked it but it wasn't my fave

A series of queer fairy tales! This was a great little compendium of stories that were beautifully drawn. Gillmans work is expressive yet gentle.

Perhaps this would've hit better if I hadn't just read one of the best graphic novels this year. But it was still a solid read, full of short, cute stories and queer reimaginings of familiar and new tales alike! I especially enjoyed the last one - why insist on a transaction when you've been given a gift?
The art style wasn't my favorite, but still a cute, quick read.
