Honestly a GREAT accomplishment. As someone who works in the healthcare space, it's a testament to the complexity of the field that good overviews of how healthcare works in America are essentially non-existent. How impressive then, that the first such book I've come across, was written by two medical students DURING their studies!!! As friends to newly minted doctors, knowing how difficult it is just to fulfill the obligations to medical school, I tip my hat to you Drs. Askin and Moore. You've written an excellent "US healthcare for dummies," no small feat in itself. I firmly believe that such works have been so lacking that the vast majority of healthcare "insiders," including professionals like myself and even (maybe especially) doctors would benefit from the bird's eye view offered here of 1. what are the moving pieces, 2. what are the major problems with the system right now, and 3. what have been the big proposed and implemented changes (legislative or otherwise), and how have they played out.

Anyone interested in the biggest business (undertaking would be less crass, but perhaps a touch too lofty for a book review) in the world should not pass on this book.
