One of my online book groups has talked about how they like Matt Drabble. So I took a chance and read a book that I normally wouldn't. Nothing against the book, but the blurb just didn't interest me..but I like to take the advice of my online friends.

Anyhoo...

This is a story about an island that is going under due to the lumber mill being closed down and the residents can't find work. Luckily, there's a cult on the island, and a business man wants to buy their land, which would essentially save the islanders. The dilemma is a war when the cult doesn't want to sell.

And yes, there's a twist that totally blindsided me.

There's more action than gore in this book, which is fine... That just isn't my preference.

I really don't know what else to say. This wasn't necessarily my cup of tea, but I'm sure other people would love it. I think I read an editoral review comparing this author to King, and I would agree with that. Me, personally,I'm not a King fan..but I'm sure King fans would like this story
