Fun romance read. It's basically William and Kate fanfiction, but I think it's actually better if you don't go in with any opinions on the actual British royal family. Overall, the characters were likeable and the chemistry was good.

As Michael Hobbes said, royalty is a human rights abuse. And this novel bears that out. If you're looking for a rollicking royal romance romp, this is definitely definitely not it. The plot was good, but I was blindsided a bit by just how stress-inducing it all was. Don't think I'll be reading the sequel, if I'm honest.

I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. Royal romances aren't usually my thing but back when I won The Heir Affair from the publisher awhile back, I knew I had to get and give The Royal We a solid chance. The audiobook is brilliant, and for such a big romance book, I was pleasantly surprised.
Bex and Nick are such great characters. I loved how it went thru 8 years of their relationship and you saw them in different parts of that. I loved their friend group, and that for a book I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy, I did. I am jumping right into The Heir Affair tomorrow to continue this!

I don’t exactly know why but I had such a hard time reading this one. My mind kept wandering. I had to « force » myself back in the story and re-read the same lines over and over again. I think most of it is because I don’t know much about the Royal Family and I didn’t get most of the references. Or maybe because I knew how it was going to end. (The first chapter starts at present day and then goes back in time until it reaches present day.) Although this is not always a bad thing when it is done well. The pace of the story is so slow that I kept losing interest. Overall it’s not a bad story, but something clearly didn’t work for me because it took me a lot longer that I was expecting to read it. I had to sprint through the last half because I just wanted to finish it. 😪
