At parts too close to reality, at others a great chick-lit escape. It really is a 3.5/5, but leans to the upper half od that so gets the 4/5. Slow and jilted at the start, but then it just started to roll. My first, but not my last, Jennifer Cruise.

It's Jennifer Cruisie. The dialogue will be snappy, there will be some sort of memorable quirk (the dogs OMG), there will be tension-laden conflict covering attraction, and everyone will end up happy. Nothing more, nothing less. I like it like that.

Not much character development, plot overrode all else.

I generally liked this book. My only issue was it being the third jennifer cruise novel I've read, I started to notice that her plots tend to have a patten. I'd like to try and read another book by her again, but if it has the same formula again I may have to give up on the author.

I thought this book was okay. I thought Lucy was pretty flakey, which is probably why I didn't love it

Lucy's divorce isn't going well. Her husband, Bradley Porter, stood her up for the divorce proceedings, and she's approached by a police officer who believes her Bradley may be John Bradley, an embezzler. Shootings, explosions and bad hair dye ensues as Lucy gets rid of Bradley.

Although reasonably clever I just didn't find the funny parts funny, and I never connected to the characters. It's a decent beach read.
