Little on the nose with the clues, but I love Aunty Lee! She is an ICON! I am so sad we only have one book left!

There were aspects of this book I don't love regarding the physical portrayal of a bad character. Otherwise though, despite dragging a bit in the middle, I quite enjoyed it. I was very sad to learn that story of the needlessly euthanized puppy was very much ripped from the headlines in the real Straits Times. It brought back a lot of personal sadness for me. As for the actual Alison McElwee, wherever you are, I do not respect your perspective and only feel bad for your kids and for the puppy you treated as an object.

Audiobook (All of my entries on The Story Graph are audiobooks.)
#3 in series (I started reading this series in June 2022 and now I have to decide about committing to it.)
Will I read other installments? Probably Not Maybe Definitely I believe there is only one more installment at this point. I don't see a reason to stop listening to the adventures of Aunty Lee.
Comparison to others in series: Not as good About the same Better A good story with great red herrings.
The narrator was Emily Woo Zeller. She does a good job.

This is a nice pandemic read. Easy on the spirit.
This one I thought I had figured out but then there was a twist which I enjoyed.
Little breadcrumbs all over.
Not as much of a focus on food as the others, which is good as I probably can't afford to order out for a Southeast Asian alternative. Mooncakes are not my thing.
But a fun listen nonetheless.

I really thought I was hot shit figuring out the killer halfway before the reveal 💀 it seems so obvious in hindsight but I really let myself get taken in by the deliberate clues 💀 As before there are some stuff that were a bit iffy and I was like squinting in slight incredulity but I just feel like the mystery overall was impressive and I could hardly put the book done once the ball really started rolling. I wish there were more sapphic women though and ones that aren't [spoilers] you know? I'm really just loving this series I wish it didn't have to end so soon.

I figured out the big twist pretty early on (and solved the murder) but the journey was still delightful!
