I loved this book! This is a story that will rip your heart out but still leave you smiling at the end. It's not an instant love connection story, which made me super happy, they have a good history and it's elaborated on but not overly so. It was a quick read but still extremely enjoyable and I can't wait for the sequel.

Review from Much Loved Books

From the first few paragraphs I am already in love with the descriptive writing, it made the whole experience more realistic to me, letting me imagine what was happening.

"the air was dense and musty, and a white mist concealed the cold, damp earth beneath my feet"

I really like the relationship that Lizzy has with Michael and how they have gone from best friends to being together and I can sympathise from where she is coming from, a broken home.

Her premonitions come in forms of dreams and if I were to have only "good dreams" then I would really love to have this myself.

The story evolves and unfolds seamlessly, and we follow Lizzy as she deals with her emotions with some gripping storyline, which even made me cry. We get glimpses into Michael's and Lizzy's relationship in the forms of dreams, where they visit different places for Michael communicate.

The anticipation of what was going to happen next had me sitting on the edge of my seat, and although the story itself is based on a short time line, it is packed full of suspense, romance and paranormal.

It concluded really well and I hope there is another book to follow as I can't wait to follow Lizzy again.

This was an Experience
Some books are a joy to read.
Some books are aren't worth reading whatsoever.
This book, this book was neither and both.
It is not a good book, it's not fun, it's not thought provoking... It's not even romantic, and G!d did they try to make it romantic.
This book was poorly written and if I hadn't been reading and ranting about it with my best friend I would have given up on it, but I was reading it with my best friend and as such this was quite a fun experience.
The thing about this book is I wanted to be nice, it's her first book etc etc but then Lucy Crow and Tyler got involved.
Cliches can be great, cliches can be brilliant if done well.
The magical native healer trope, is ill thought out, damaging and badly researched. The entire characterisation of Lucy Crow was disgusting and offensive.
Tyler... the drug addict plotline is overdone, everyone is in love with the protag is overdone, making the best friend the second choice is way overdone.
Tyler's entire plotline was terribly handled and just... awful.
Michael, Michael, Michael.... Oh how I hated him, so perfect, so boring and so controlling.
Lizzy had no personality.
This book isn't worth your time, it isn't worth anyone's time.
The final chapter is frankly epic in its terribleness.

The ever invasive stink of christian theology that pervaded every inch of this book would have been fine if it had been well done, had a point or even mattered particularly to the character, (It has been done well: Lotr, Narnia, Grisha, Hdm) this combined with the bastardisation of First Nations culture and abuse of harmful tropes left this book a complete mess.

The author seemed to be picking words at random from the thesaurus, had no idea when to end a sentence, or how to make a character's voice distinct from everyone else's.

I have so many problems with this book, the fact that the author seemed never to have heard of showing instead of telling, the fact that everyone in the book seemed the seemed to eat solely by shoveling and piling food into themselves, the terrible use of ellipsis.

But two things stand out for me.

The angels weirdly normal names.

"Michael's intention was to keep me pure before he married me first"

I considered hiding this review because of spoilers, but if I can stop even one young girl picking up this book and reading about this girl, a girl who wouldn't exist without her boyfriend because he takes up the entirety of her personality, who does everything he tells her and thinks that THAT sentence is romantic, then I've done my job.

TL;DR, The book is crap, racist, sexist and boring with bad grammar and a nonsensical plot.

Disclaimer: I received an e-copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Cameo Renae does not disappoint. From the very beginning, she just grabs you by the shoulders, holds you to your chair, and won't let up. I felt like I was actually running for my life right alongside Lizzy at the start! She's such a great writer when it comes to descriptions and relationships, it's just fantastic. I cared for Lizzy and Michael, Lizzy's shaky relationship with her mother, how Michael's parents feel for her, etc. I laughed, I cried, I screamed "NOOOOOOOOO!" on several occasions. (This might not be the book to read in a crowded location, if you're like me =).)

I found myself going through Lizzy's emotions with her, and that's when you know it's a great book. I hope there's another one of the way, because I'd like to know more about Lizzy and how she continues throughout her life. Simply amazing writing, a wonderful, emotional story, and I loved the ending. =)

5 stars, totally

I wanted to like this book..it had supernatural touches that I truly enjoy reading about. But, I found it a bit boring and slow. It didn't draw me in...and I couldn't keep reading. Did not finish.

I kind feel bad about giving a three star review after seeing so many five star reviews. For me, IN MY DREAMS is one of those it's not you it's me books. While I enjoyed the story line, I also felt like it was lacking in areas. Maybe it's my age (35)? Maybe I would of enjoyed it more if I was younger? I found myself skimming over parts that seemed a little redundant, mainly when Lizzy was in her dreams. Parts seemed forced and awkward. A decent read, just not one I would care to read again.

This was a fast-paced paranormal romance, emphasis on romance, that kept me interested throughout the novel. The writing was quite good, though a couple of flashbacks about Lizzy's and Michael's relationship, and how their love developed, would have given a whole other level and depth to the story. A section of the ending didn't seem to fit with the rest of the story (it was cool and definitely added to the paranormal aspect), but for me, it felt random. I think the plot point it revealed could have been explained in a different way; and yes, it was further evidence of Michael's love for Lizzy, but I already understood his devotion and that section pushed it over the top, seemingly shoving it in my face as a reader, making sure that I really got the love angle, though it was repeatedly demonstrated throughout the novel. But in all honesty, it was a good book; it was clean (romance wise--there was a lot of inappropriate language); and I think romance fans would eat up this story.

Good story. Depressing but in a good way? Characters could have a little more to them. But over all not a bad book.
