I reluctantly give this 5 stars because of the following:

1. I originally did not like Tabitha from book 2.
2. I hate the 2nd chance romance troupe.
3. I hold several awards for Grudge Holding.
4. I mostly exist out of spite.
5. If this was my real life I would have never agreed to go on friend dates with someone who dumped me 9 years ago.
6. I would have never forgiven him and probably cut off my friends who kept pushing us together.
7. This made me cry several times.
8. I ended up feeling so much for Tabitha.
And 9. It had a good ending ok?

This is why I didn’t WANT to give 5 stars but I hated it, but I loved it. And I figure if it can do that to me it must be pretty good.

Nope. I’m done. 36% and I’m OUT.

First of all, these two JUST met again in the present. A romance book where the FMC and MMC just meet again at 36% into the book???? No thank you.

The past chapters are so juvenile. You’d think these kids were 13 and not 19-20. I was a camp counselor at 20 so I know that yes, while there were hijinks… we didn’t go “ew gross, why are the old 40yo director and nurse making out; marrying is for the young people” how RUDE.

There were far too many past chapters and far too much unnecessary backstory. I would have preferred to get all present chapters and then have ONE flashback to their breakup. I want CURRENT chemistry thanks. And I didn’t even get far enough to get any - bc as soon as they meet at 36%? Past chapter. Nope. Not doing this.

I loved this story.

Content: clean - passionate kissing, a few mild swear words

I have really been into light hearted romance lately and this second chance, friends to lovers is a favourite of mine so far. The storyline was cute, light hearted, easy to read! If you're looking for a cute, happy, quick read I highly recommend this book

This was my least favorite in the series. The whole “We’re just friends who flirt” thing was very immature. The communication was immature, the pranks were immature… I just couldn’t get into it. I wanted them to just be honest, say what they wanted from the relationship and stop messing around.
