So disappointed in all the negative reviews. I absolutely loved reading Antichrist. It's offbeat, it's witty and clever, and you really have to keep up with it. It's a book that says, Stick with me on this one, and you just have to shrug your shoulders, say, OK, and go along for the ride. And it's well worth it by the end.

I think the most brilliant part about this book is the ratio of plot to story. Sure, all that happens, if you're a reductionist, is a dad brings his son to Satanists to see what to do now that he is certain his kid is the Antichrist. But it's a lazy reader who only pulls that from the book. The story builds on family history so that you begin to understand why this guy came to be in this predicament in the first place.

Give it another read. I'm going to, because I know I definitely missed some nuggets the first time around.
