It deserves its ranking as a classic for me. and even though it is even older than Dracula I found it an easily plot to follow and more absorbing. Believe the hype, the three musketeers deserves all its accolades and is a great accomplishment in literature. A book that needs too be read and will leave you astounded by its power and immortality.

Long but breezy. This is at least 2 or 3 novels in one. Our titular musketeers aren’t all that smart but they are brave and that’s what matters. Even when a little bit of forethought would forestall great danger.

Simply the best classic author I’ve ever read. His flow is much easier to read then other classic authors like James F. Cooper. This story has multiple protagonists that you love and loathe for different reasons. d’Artnen for example is brave and chivalrous but any girl he sees he falls in love with no matter how vile the creature may be *cough* cough* Milady, or should I say Anne de Breuil. Milady just might be one of the best antagonists that has ever been written in classical literature. Bravo Monsieur Dumas!
