A must-read for anyone interested in feminism, whether they have an interest for witches throughout history or not. I learned SO MUCH about the development of capitalism and the way the European women were ostracized in order for it to expand.

absolutely killer. Wish I read this when I was younger. Really great reformulation of primitive accumulation and strong argument on the ties between colonialism and the witch trials

Federici is masterful in uncovering the roots of the patriarchal society and its evolution across centuries and continents. An essential read that shows how history can be truly intersectional

Read this for uni. Its is a bit of an outdated book in some instances and as a historian, I can't help but see patches in Fedricis historical analysis. However: this is an outstanding book combining global histories of witch hunts with Marxist and feminist theory. And once one made it through the theory established in the first part of the book, it becomes more readable and interesting. Would recommend!
