This is an middle grade book that I think I'd enjoy more as a kid. It was a quite pleasant read to find out what each kid wished for and what the other thought of it. Know it had some kind of meaning behind it but not quite sure what it was. To know beforehand what your dreams in life is? Or not always getting what you want? Pleasant story nevertheless

If you had one wish, for what would you wish? What if you had to share the wish with everyone in your class? Would your wish change? The kids in this class get one such decision one fateful winter day right before Christmas Vacation. A Genie explodes into their classroom and says he will grant one wish and the class has an hour to decide. The book looks at what each kids would wish for and why it would or would not be a good idea. This was a very interesting book, but not at all what I was expecting. Except for the setting, christmas plays no part in the story. I like how the ideas are hashed over by the characters. I think this could make a good classroom read and assignment. While I didn’t love the book because I was looking for something more Christmasy, I did like it, and could see how it could be useful to classrooms and book clubs.
