Unsurprisingly, the short story is decidedly not Diana Gabaldon's format.

This is a short story featuring Lord John Grey, who is a character in Diana Gabaldon's 'Outlander' series. John sees a man, who he first thinks is Jamie Fraser, killed at his club. He decides to find out who killed him and why. I enjoyed getting to know his character better

The Lord John novellas seem even less necessary than the Outlander novellas, but since the full books in the series make reference to them, we’re in it to finish them.

It was a quick read, and provided me some more insight to the character of Lord John Grey. I really came to love him when he was introduced at Ardsmuir and then more later as the Governor of Jamaica... so I was ecstatic to find that there are all these other stories from his perspective!
Definitely grab up the Lord John books, you won't be disappointed!

A short story in the Outlander universe, and the author (once again) doesn’t miss. Entertaining, fast paced, with top-tier writing that gave me new appreciation for Lord John.

This was a short novella. I'm finding it hard to get into these Lord John's books. While it seems his main thing is to solve mysteries, these books are just hard to follow. It's a never-ending name of characters that are thrown out constantly. It's hard to draw an attachment to them.

I'm going to continue to read them because from what I read on the author's page, these books will all tie into one of the main books where Jamie/Claire are featured. I'm just hoping these get better as they go along.

I really like Lord John so it is nice to get a bit more of his story.
