The action was first rate, I got tired of the "my poor past routine". I really wanted her to connect with her vamp more, ah well lack of romance. Perhaps that lowered it a star for me. This book really called for a little love, she and he have been so wounded. I thought the distraction from the human, Cole was a wasted write in, I could not find a reason for him to be there. I really wanted to dive more into the past of these characters, perhaps she will lead us their in future books ? The way she was brought back, was fascinating, top rate !

I could not get into this book, no matter how many times I put it down and tried to pick it back up. Jaz whines a lot, and Val has nothing going for him. The fight scenes aren't that exciting, and there's not even enough sexual tension to keep you going. There's not even a true story line. It's just meh.

I've just started reading this book, and this first few pages are ok, but then it settles into a boring rut.

I just finished this book and absolutely loved it. Despite the fact that I have three major college projects hanging over my head, I couldn't bear to put this down. The main character, Jasmine (Jaz), is a kickass female protagonist. She's sarcastic, tough, and doesn't take crap from anyone. Her partner/boss, Vayl, is sufficiently mysterious and amusing. The writing is fast paced and funny. I've already started the second book, and can't wait to see where it goes.

Oh boy this book was action filled awesome! I mean why wouldn't it? In a world where humans know about vampires and possibly other supernatural beings, a 300 year old vampire works with a human woman, who has her own supernatural abilities, on a CIA case. It's definitely not the typical vampire love novels that other authors have been writing these days. I do expect that in the end of this series, Vayl and Jaz will fall in love, if they haven't already considering what I read in this first book, it seems like they already have strong feelings for each other.

SO much fun, I almost forgot how much I love this series. So sad that she left us and the crew can not continue.

I mostly skimmed through the book; the plot and romance didn't really reel me in like I had hoped.

I liked this book well enough. I think it would have benefitted more if I would have been able to consecutively read this book, but I had other books released after I had started this book and I put a hold on finishing this book in order to read others. So unsurprisinly the story felt very disjointed. There were scenes written in such a way that I found it difficult to follow along as to where things were going.

Despite the disjointed feeling while reading this book. I really like the concept and I like Jaz. Her character is the type of female character I like to read about. Yes, she's had bad things happen to her, but she's self reliant and capable, and she doesn't let the bad things bring her down.

I like the building relationship between Vayl and Jaz. You can definitely tell that there's something there between these two characters besides a business relationship. I hope that there continues to be progress and they don't just stay in the same pattern. Although from what I've read on the series so far (to see if I would be interested in reading it in the first place) I believe they do progress.

Overall I liked the book. I will be continuing the series. I have bought the second book for my Kindle and I guess we will see from there. Until Then!

A great start to a series there were a few twists in there I seriously didn't see coming. Can't wait to read the next one.
