Beautiful artwork once again! Not one of my favorite stories, but I love the scene we got between Tara and Gemma. Wish we would have gotten more of that on the show!

If you're already a Sons of Anarchy fan, this collection is for you. If you're not already a Sons of Anarchy fan, this collection is for you.

Kurt Sutter is an absolute legend of criminal underworld TV. He's the Stephen King of organised crime and violence. When a story is this good it works in any and every format.

These SOA comic book collections read like a graphic novel. Each comic is a chapter of the ongoing SOA saga rather than a stand alone tale so they should be read chronologically. You don't need to have seen SOA on TV to enjoy the comics but you do need to read them all from the beginning.

Ed Brisson does justice to Sutter's work. The characters are recognisable, fully rounded and just as hard hitting and heart warming as they should be. The story is fitting, believable, tense and bloody.

Damien Couceiro's illustrations have that old school scratchy, grainy quality which works well for these vicious rogues. I'd describe the colour palette as 'apocolyptic' because it's dark, dirty and acidic. Every page just shouts 'dangerous'. You know what you're in for.

SOA in any format is not for the squimish or the underage. It's properly sand-in-your-eyes gritty and consuming. You know for a fact that you'd do the same if you were in the same position, such is the connection between characters and audience. What more could you ask for?
