pretty similar to verity, and also reminded me a little bit of hidden pictures with the sense of having a babysitter/maid with a questionable background. i really enjoyed this book, and do think it was very fast paced. it was super easy to get through. i did see some of the twists coming, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. i do highly recommend this book if you want a fast paced thriller to knock out your reading goals :)

If Freida writes it, I'm reading it.

I originally bought this as my first Freida McFadden novel because of the buzz and reviews on TikTok. BookTok delivered. My introduction to FMcF was actually Never Lie (audiobook) and I was an instant fan. I finally got around to reading this and yep, I was engrossed from page 1.

I just learned this became a trilogy so guess I'm headed to the bookstore to buy the next two books.

Honestly, this is the first McFadden book that I thoroughly enjoyed! I didn’t understand the hype of the author after the last couple I’ve read from her, but The Housemaid is pretty fantastic. I’m excited to read the sequel.

Heard a lot of good things about this book, so I finally decided to read it. It did not disappoint! McFadden's writing style is incredible. Just when you think you have an idea what's gonna happen, another plot twist gets thrown at you.

The characters + their backstories are all so complex, and it's so interesting to things unfold throughout the book.

Can't wait to read more of her works!

A fun, twisty read that’s hard to put down! Freida McFadden’s writing style is very engaging and really focuses on the characters. I don’t read a lot of thrillers, but when I do I choose ones that take place in a household/family setting that focus on a marriage

Like most thrillers, you will need to suspend your disbelief. But if you do, you’re in for a wild ride and will almost certainly enjoy your time
